Responsibilities & Context
The core responsibilities for the Officer – Foreign Trade Operations will include:
- Managing all aspects of foreign trade business operations, including export, import, and remittance processing.
- Ensuring all transactions comply with Import & Export Policy, Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, ICC publications (UCP/URR/URC etc.), and guidelines of Bangladesh Bank for foreign exchange transactions.
- Conducting thorough scrutiny of import/export documents.
- Handling the negotiation of trade documents and processing cash incentives.
- Managing the lodgment and retirement of bills with a good understanding of commercial documents.
The bank is seeking these officers to strengthen its foreign trade operations team with skilled and competent personnel for its branches in Dhaka and Chattogram.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational: Post Graduate from a reputed University. Must not have any third class/division in the academic career.
Experience: Preferably 5 (five) years and above experience in any reputed private commercial bank, with 3 (three) years of practical experience at the Foreign Exchange Desk in any AD Branch/CPC.
Other Requirements: Age within 40 years as on May 01, 2025. Must have a smart appearance with a pleasant personality.
Additional Requirements & Skills
- Sound knowledge of foreign trade (export/import/remittance) business operations.
- Well conversant with Import & Export Policy and Foreign Exchange Regulation Act.
- Familiarity with ICC publications (UCP/URR/URC etc.).
- Good understanding of guidelines of Bangladesh Bank for foreign exchange transactions.
- Proficiency in document scrutiny, negotiation, processing cash incentives, lodgment, and retirement procedures.
- A strong ability to understand commercial documents.
